Recordings to clips

Turn any recording into clips

A Zoom call, a Twitch VOD, a Riverside episode, Sunday's sermon. Upload the recording and Clyper finds the moments worth posting, frames each one vertically on whoever's talking and captions every word: up to 30 clips from one video, ready for TikTok, Reels and Shorts.

Where each app keeps your recording

Clyper doesn't connect to these apps, so the first step is the file. Here's where to find it, in short; each page has the steps in full. Streamed to YouTube? Skip the file: paste the link once the stream has ended and been saved.

What makes a recording clip well

Clyper picks moments by what's said, from the transcript, then cuts each one on whole sentences, so it does best with people talking: calls, podcasts, interviews, talks, sermons, streams with commentary. A stretch with no one talking, like a silent play in a game, won't be found.

  • Faces you can see. Each clip is framed on whoever's talking. In a call, speaker view gives the best clips; gallery view leaves each face small. Over gameplay, a webcam in a corner gets stacked on top of the game.
  • Clear sound. A microphone close to each speaker makes the captions right the first time. The free background noise remover helps with a noisy room.
  • The right size. Up to 4 GB and 4 hours a file. For a longer or bigger recording, the free video splitter cuts it into parts without re-encoding.
  • Everyone's OK. A call or an interview has other people in it. Ask them before you post clips of them.

What it costs

A credit is a minute of video, so a plan is how much video you can clip in a month, however many clips it makes. A one-hour recording uses 60 credits and can give up to 30 clips.

Questions

What recordings can Clyper make clips from?

Any video of people talking, from a minute to 4 hours long: a call, a podcast, a stream, a webinar, a sermon, an interview. Upload it as an MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV file up to 4 GB, or paste its YouTube link if it's on YouTube.

Can Clyper connect to Zoom, Google Drive or Twitch?

No. Clyper takes YouTube links and uploaded files, so download the recording from the app it's in and upload it. Each page above shows where that app keeps its recordings and how to download them.

What if my recording is over 4 GB or 4 hours?

Split it into parts with the free video splitter, which cuts without re-encoding, so the parts look exactly like the original. Or make it smaller with the free video compressor. Each part is its own upload.

What kind of recording makes the best clips?

One where people are talking and you can see who: clips are picked from what's said, and framed on whoever's talking. Speaker view, a camera on each person and a clear microphone make the biggest difference. A recording of only a screen, with no one talking, gives little to clip.

Is my recording kept private?

It's used to make your clips and isn't published anywhere. Uploaded videos are deleted 2 days after you upload them, and clips and your edits 7 days after they're made, so download the ones you want to keep.

How much does it cost to clip a recording?

A credit a minute of video: a one-hour recording uses 60 credits and can give up to 30 clips. Plans start with Starter, month to month.

Clip your next recording

Upload it or paste its YouTube link. Clyper finds the best moments, frames them on whoever's talking and captions every word: up to 30 clips, ready to post.
