How to choose a clipping tool

Start with where your videos are. If you clip other people's YouTube videos, as clippers on campaigns do, you need a tool that takes any YouTube link. Some only take uploads, and one asks you to prove the channel is yours. Clyper takes any public or unlisted link, and 10 at once on Studio.

Then what you pay for. Most charge by the minute of video, some by the clip, some by the video, and editors by the month. Work out a month of your clipping on each: an hour-long podcast is 60 minutes, which on Clyper is 60 credits for as many clips as you choose, up to 30. Billed yearly, Clyper Pro comes to $0.0475 a minute, against $0.0483 on OpusClip Pro.

Then how much editing you want to do. Some tools hand you clips to finish in an editor, with B-roll, effects and scheduling. Clyper hands you clips that are ready: cut to whole sentences, framed on whoever's talking, captioned and scored. Every step you add to a clip, you repeat on every clip.

And how you try it. Free plans usually add a watermark or let clips expire. Clyper has no free plan; Starter is $20 month to month, so a month is all it takes to see what it makes of your videos. What to check in that month, and how these tools find and frame moments, is in how AI clip generators work.

Whichever you choose, you need permission to post clips of someone else's video: that's what clipping campaigns give. New to it? Start with how to make money clipping.
