Clyper vs Klap
Klap and Clyper both turn a YouTube link into vertical clips. The difference is what you pay for and how much there is to learn. Klap counts every clip it makes, and its pricing page was showing different visitors different prices when we checked. Clyper charges a credit per minute of video, starts at $20 a month, and takes videos up to 4 hours long.

Our take
We make Clyper, so read this as our case. What we say about Klap comes from Klap's own site and docs.
For clippers, we'd pick Clyper. It costs less to start ($20 a month against $29 for Klap's Basic, billed monthly), it takes longer videos, and it does one job. You paste a link and get clips that start and end on whole sentences, framed on whoever's talking, captioned and ranked. There's less to set up and less to learn.
Klap is worth a look if you want an editor with B-roll, a brand kit and scheduling in the same app, or an API to build on.
Why clippers pick Clyper over Klap
Cheaper to start
Billed monthly, Clyper Starter is $20 for 150 minutes of video. Klap's Basic is $29. If you're clipping a handful of videos a month, Starter covers it, and there's no year to sign up for: one month is enough to find out.
You pay for the video, not for each clip
A one-hour podcast is 60 credits on Clyper (at least 10 for any video), and you get up to 30 clips from it. On Klap, each clip comes out of a monthly allowance, and when we checked, its pricing page was trying out other prices and other units on some visitors, so what you see may not be what we saw. Clyper's prices are the ones on its pricing page.
Longer videos
Clyper takes videos up to 4 hours long, by link or upload. Klap's docs list 3 hours on paid plans. Long streams and marathon podcasts are where a lot of the best moments are, and you shouldn't have to cut them in half first.
Clips you can post as they come
Each clip is cut to whole sentences, 20 to 60 seconds, framed on whoever's talking (with the webcam over the game for streams), captioned clear of every app's buttons and ranked by hook score. If one needs a nudge, trim it, extend either end by up to 15 seconds or fix a word. Then download it and post.

Klap has a full editor, auto B-roll, a brand kit, 4K exports, layouts for split screens, screen recordings and gaming, scheduling to YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook, and an API. It takes links from Google Drive, Dropbox, Vimeo, Twitch and Loom, and lets you try one video free.
Clyper leaves those out to keep clipping quick. Its clips are 1080 × 1920 MP4s with no watermark, so the editor or scheduler you already use works with them. To see what the numbers come to on campaigns, try the clipping earnings calculator.
