- Karaoke: The whole line stays up and fills with yellow as each word is said.
- Highlight: The spoken word gets a bright yellow highlight.
- One word: One big word at a time, popping in as it's said.
- Plain: Calm subtitles in sentence case on a soft dark band, no animation.

Which caption style should I use?
| Style | Words at a time | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Pop | Up to 3 | Podcasts, interviews, clipping campaigns: the all-rounder |
| Karaoke | Up to 3 | Stories, motivation, slower talk |
| Highlight | Up to 3 | Explainers, tips, busy footage |
| One word | 1 | Hype, gaming, short punchy lines |
| Plain | Up to 7 | Interviews, talks, courses, LinkedIn |
Not sure? Start with Pop: it's bold enough for any feed and easy to follow. Clipping a campaign? Check the brief first: some ask for a style, and any of these is burned in, so it shows the same wherever the clip is posted.
Make a style your own
On Pro and Studio, save up to 10 caption styles of your own: start from any of the 5, then choose the font (Poppins, Montserrat, Anton, Bebas Neue, Archivo Black or Bangers), the colors, the size and how high the captions sit. They show beside the built-in styles when you start a video or edit a clip.
Every style, in every language
Each style works in all 50+ languages Clyper captions, in the right font for each script, with each language's own capitals. See how it handles these:

Questions
Which caption style is best for TikTok?
There's no one best: bold word-by-word styles like Pop and Highlight suit most talking clips, and Plain suits calmer ones. Pick the one that fits the video, and keep it consistent on an account.
Which plans include every caption style?
Pro and Studio include all 5, and styles of your own. Starter clips use Pop, the default.
Can I use my own font and colors?
Yes, on Pro and Studio. Save up to 10 styles of your own: start from any of the 5, then choose the font (Poppins, Montserrat, Anton, Bebas Neue, Archivo Black or Bangers), the colors, the size and how high the captions sit.
Can I change a clip's style after it's made?
Yes, in the clip editor, and the preview shows the change before you download.
Are the captions burned into the video?
Yes. They're part of the clip, so they show on every app exactly as you chose them.
