Turn a Spotify video podcast into clips
Spotify for Creators' Download episode gives you the audio file, so start from the original video, or the episode's YouTube upload. Clyper finds the moments worth posting, frames whoever's talking and captions every word, for clips that bring new people to the show.
MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV, up to 4 GB and 4 hours

Where to get your episode's video
In Spotify for Creators on the web, Episodes, the three dots and Download episode give you the episode's audio file, and Spotify's help center describes no way to download a video episode back. Clyper needs the video, so start from the file you made:
- 1The file you uploaded. The video you gave Spotify for Creators (New Episode, then Select a file), or gave a host that sends video to Spotify, such as Buzzsprout, Libsyn or Audioboom, is the one to use.
- 2Recorded with Riverside inside Spotify for Creators? Log in to Riverside with the same login (email, Google, Apple or Spotify), open the project and export the video from the editor: Export, then Download. The steps are on Riverside recordings.
- 3Edited in another app? Export the episode again as an MP4 (H.264) at 1080p or 4K. Clyper takes MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV, but not MPG, which Spotify also accepts.
- 4On YouTube too? Paste the episode's YouTube link instead, public or unlisted, with nothing to download.
- 5Upload the file to Clyper: up to 4 GB and 4 hours. Spotify takes episodes up to 12 hours, so cut a longer or bigger file into parts with the free video splitter first.

Spotify's episode previews and Clips
Unless you turn them off, Spotify makes an episode preview of every episode itself: up to 60 seconds and square, taken from the start or, with the Smart option, from the section its tool finds most engaging. Previews play in the Home and Podcast tabs of the mobile app when the episode has no Clip.
A Clip is a video you upload, one per episode: 15 to 90 seconds, an MP4 or MOV up to 1 GB, vertical and captioned as Spotify recommends. It shows on your show page and may be recommended in the Home and Podcast feeds, the Browse tab and the Now Playing View. On the web, go to Episodes, click the three dots next to the episode and choose Upload a clip, with the clip that has the best hook score. Analytics, then Discovery, shows each clip's impressions and the plays it led to.
TikTok, Reels and Shorts, and growing on Spotify
What Spotify pays grows with the people playing your show there. The Spotify Partner Program asks for 3 episodes, 2,000 hours and 1,000 audience members on Spotify in 30 days, then pays 50% of ad revenue plus Premium video revenue; Memberships, since October 20, 2026, let listeners pay you directly, and you keep 90%. Views on TikTok don't count toward any of it. The people a clip sends to the show do.
So point every clip at Spotify: name the show in the caption, put its Spotify link in your bio, and ask for the follow, since Spotify saves new episodes to followers' libraries. See how much Spotify pays podcasters, how to grow a podcast with clips and podcast clips with Clyper.
Audio-only shows, guests and permission
Clyper works from video. For an audio-only show, the free audiogram maker turns a moment into a video with your cover, a moving waveform and captions; to film the next one, see how to start a video podcast.
Ask guests before posting clips of them, and send them theirs. Clip other people's shows only with their permission.
What it costs
A credit is a minute of video, so a plan is how much video you can clip in a month, however many clips it makes. A 45-minute episode uses 45 credits and can give up to 22 clips.

Questions
Can I make clips from a Spotify video podcast?
Yes, from the episode's video file or its YouTube upload. Clyper doesn't take Spotify links: upload the original video, or paste the YouTube link.
Can I download my video episode from Spotify for Creators?
Spotify for Creators' Download episode gives you the episode's audio file, and its help center describes no way to download the video. Use the original video from the app you recorded or edited it in.
Does Spotify have a clips feature for podcasts?
Two things. Spotify makes a square episode preview of up to 60 seconds from each episode, and you can upload a Clip: one video per episode, 15 to 90 seconds, an MP4 or MOV up to 1 GB, which shows on your show page and may be recommended in Spotify's feeds.
Can I post the same clip on Spotify, TikTok, Reels and Shorts?
Yes. Clyper's clips are vertical, captioned MP4s of 20 to 60 seconds, which fit Spotify's Clips as well as TikTok, Reels and Shorts.
Do TikTok views count for the Spotify Partner Program?
No. The program counts audience and hours on Spotify only: 1,000 audience members and 2,000 hours in 30 days. Clips help when the people who see them go on to play the show on Spotify.
Can I clip an audio-only Spotify podcast?
Not with Clyper, which works from video. The free audiogram maker turns a moment of audio into a video with your cover, a waveform and captions.
