Videos like this a month, on each plan
| Plan | Videos a month | Clips, up to | A clip |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter$20/mo | 1 | 30 | $0.67 |
| Pro$38/mo | 4 | 120 | $0.32 |
| Studio$96/mo | 11 | 330 | $0.29 |
- Auto makes about 10 an hour, up to 10, and fewer from a video with fewer moments that stand on their own.
Up to 30 clips a video, no watermark on any plan.
How to use the clips per video calculator
- Paste a YouTube link, or type the length. With a link, the calculator reads the video's length from YouTube's player. A file on your computer works the same: type how long it runs.
- Pick how often you post. One, two or three posts a day on an account, to see how many days of posts the video gives.
- See the clips, and what they cost. The most clips Clyper can make of it, how many it picks on Auto, and how many videos like it each plan covers in a month, with what a clip comes to, in your currency.
- Make them. With a link pasted, the button takes it straight into Clyper, where you choose the number of clips and get them cut, framed and captioned.
How many clips a video gives
Up to one clip for every 2 minutes, and 30 at most. That's the most you can ask Clyper for, so every clip has a stretch of video of its own to come from. You choose the number, from 1 up to that. Or leave it on Auto, and Clyper picks about one for every 6 minutes, up to 10, and stops at the strong ones.
| Video | Clips, up to | On Auto, about | Credits | Days of posts at 1 a day |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 min | 5 | 2 | 10 | 5 |
| 20 min | 10 | 4 | 20 | 10 |
| 30 min | 15 | 5 | 30 | 15 |
| 45 min | 22 | 8 | 45 | 22 |
| 1 h | 30 | 10 | 60 | 30 |
| 1 h 30 min | 30 | 10 | 90 | 30 |
| 2 h | 30 | 10 | 120 | 30 |
| 3 h | 30 | 10 | 180 | 30 |
| 4 h | 30 | 10 | 240 | 30 |
A video with fewer moments that stand on their own gives fewer on Auto, and when you ask for a number, Clyper makes that many of the best it finds. A video longer than 4 hours goes in as parts. The calculator above does all of this for the length you put in.
Why more clips don't cost more
You pay for minutes of video, not clips. A credit is one minute of the video you put in, rounded up, and every video uses at least 10. A 90-minute podcast is 90 credits whether you take 1 clip or 30.
So the more clips you take from each video, the less each one costs, and asking for the most is the best value when you post every day.Starter's 150 credits a month clip 1 videos like that, up to 30 clips; Pro's 400 clip 4, up to 120. For a month of different videos, use the AI clipping cost calculator.
A worked example: one 90-minute podcast
Say you have a 1 h 30 min podcast episode. Clyper can make up to 30 clips of it, one for every 2 minutes, or about 10 on Auto. At 20 to 60 seconds each, the 30 clips come to 10 to 30 minutes of short video.
Posted once a day, that's 30 days of clips on one account: a month of daily posts from one episode. Posted on TikTok, Reels and Shorts, each clip once on each, it's 90 posts. And it all uses 90 credits.
One episode a week, clipped like that, keeps an account posting every day with no other videos. For how to plan it, see how to repurpose video content and how often to post on TikTok, Reels and Shorts.
How many clips to post
Post the strongest first. Every clip Clyper makes has a hook score, and they come best first, so the clips most likely to hold people go out while a video is new. The rest fill the days in between.
One clip, once per app. The same clip can go on TikTok, Reels and Shorts, but not twice on one app or on two of your accounts on the same app: give each account clips of its own. That's where asking for the most clips helps. See how to run multiple clip accounts and how to cross-post short videos.
Clipping for campaigns? More clips from each campaign video means more chances at views while the budget lasts. See what they could pay with the clipping earnings calculator, and how Clyper fits in on Clyper for clippers.
What every clip comes with
Clyper reads the whole video and finds the moments that stand on their own. It cuts each on whole sentences, frames it 9:16 on whoever's talking (a stream gets its webcam stacked over the game), captions every word in 5 styles and 50+ languages, and scores its hook: clean 1080 × 1920 MP4s with no watermark, on any plan.

Questions
How many clips can you get from one video?
On Clyper, up to one clip for every 2 minutes of video, and up to 30 from one video: a 30-minute video gives up to 15, and a video of 60 minutes or more gives 30. You choose how many you want, or leave it on Auto and Clyper picks about one for every 6 minutes, up to 10.
How many Shorts can I make from a 1-hour video?
Up to 30 with Clyper, each 20 to 60 seconds long, cut on whole sentences and captioned. That's 30 days of Shorts at one a day, and the same clips can go on TikTok and Reels too. On Auto, Clyper makes about 10.
Do more clips cost more?
No. A credit is a minute of video, whatever the number of clips: an hour-long video uses 60 credits for 1 clip or 30. So the more clips you take from a video, the less each one costs. Every video uses at least 10 credits.
What does Auto do?
Auto lets Clyper decide: about 10 clips an hour of video, up to 10, and fewer when a video has fewer moments that stand on their own. Choose a number instead when you want more clips to post, up to 30.
How long are the clips?
20 to 60 seconds, each starting and ending on a whole sentence. In the editor you can trim either end, or extend it to take in more of the video.
Can Clyper clip a video longer than 4 hours?
Clyper takes videos from 1 minute to 4 hours long. A longer one, like a full-day stream, goes in as parts, each clipped on its own at the same credit a minute; the calculator works out the parts for you.
Should I post every clip?
Post the strongest first. Clyper gives every clip a hook score and lists them best first, so you can post the top ones on every app and keep the rest for the days in between. Post each clip once per app, and give each of your accounts different clips.
Is the calculator free?
Yes. It's free, there's nothing to sign up for, and the length is read from YouTube's own player in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere.
