More viewers, more subs

Every 10 more Tier 1 subs add about $30.00 a month. Most new viewers find a streamer off Twitch, in clips on TikTok, Shorts and Reels. Clyper turns a stream into up to 30 vertical clips with your webcam over the game, captioned.

An estimate at US prices, before taxes and payment fees (Twitch takes them from sub revenue before your share). Many countries pay less for a sub. Prime subs pay Twitch's fixed US rate; ads pay what you set.

How Twitch pays streamers

Twitch pays Affiliates and Partners from four places. Subs are the biggest for most streamers: viewers pay $5.99, $9.99 or $24.99 a month in the US for Tier 1, 2 or 3, and you get 50% of what's left after taxes and fees. A gift sub pays like any sub of its tier. Prime subs, free to viewers with Amazon Prime, pay a fixed $2.25 in the US.

Bits pay $0.01 each, so a 1,000-Bit Cheer is $10 to you. Ads pay 55% of the net ad revenue they make, if you run at least 3 minutes of mid-roll ads an hour; Twitch doesn't say what an ad pays, and viewers on ad-free subs, Turbo or ad blockers see none. Twitch pays out on the 15th of the next month once you're owed at least $50. For every detail, read how much Twitch pays per sub, Bit and ad.

The Plus Program: 60% and 70%

Twitch's Plus Program raises your share of paid subs to 60% once you have 100 Plus Points a month, and to 70% at 300, for 3 months in a row. Recurring subs earn the points, more for higher tiers. The higher share then lasts 12 months. On 300 Tier 1 subs, that's $1257.00 a month instead of $900.00.

Getting paid at all: Affiliate and Partner

Twitch only pays Affiliates and Partners. You're invited to Affiliate once you reach 25 followers and 3 average viewers, with 4 hours live on 4 different days, within 30 days. Partner takes 75 average viewers on 6 streams in each of two 30-day periods, and an application. See how to grow on Twitch for getting there.

The quickest way to more viewers is outside Twitch. People find new streamers in short clips on TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Reels, then come to watch live. Clyper turns a stream's VOD into vertical clips with your webcam over the game, captioned, ready to post (read how to clip streams).
