Clyper vs OpusClip
OpusClip is a good tool for clipping your own channel. Clipping other people's videos for campaigns is a different job, and that's where it gets in the way: it won't clip a YouTube link until you confirm the channel is yours. Clyper takes any public link, hands back clips that are ready to post, and costs less per minute on a yearly plan.

Our take
We make Clyper, so weigh this with that in mind. Everything we say about OpusClip comes from OpusClip's own pages, linked at the bottom.
If you clip for campaigns, Clyper is the better buy, and the reason fits in a sentence. Campaigns hand you other people's videos, and OpusClip asks you to confirm you own a YouTube channel before it will clip from it. Clyper doesn't. You paste the link, and the clips come back cut, framed, captioned and scored.
OpusClip is the one to look at if you're a brand or a creator clipping your own videos and you want B-roll, templates and scheduling in one app.
Why clippers pick Clyper over OpusClip
It clips any YouTube video you can open
Clyper takes any public or unlisted YouTube link, from a minute to 4 hours long. On Studio you can paste 10 links at once and get up to 30 clips from each.
OpusClip's help center says that when you add a video by its YouTube link, you'll be asked to confirm you own the channel. If you can't, it suggests submitting the video another way, or adding the channel's owner to your team workspace so they can verify it. Fine for your own channel. Awkward for a campaign that started an hour ago.
Either way, you need permission to post clips of someone else's video, and clipping campaigns are where that comes from.
The clips are ready when they arrive
Every clip starts on the first word of a sentence and stops at the end of one, so nothing opens mid-thought. It's framed on whoever is talking and cuts to the other person when they answer. Captions go on word by word, placed where TikTok's, Reels' and Shorts' buttons won't cover them, and each clip gets a hook score so you know which to post first.
If one needs a nudge, you can trim it, stretch either end by up to 15 seconds or fix a word. OpusClip is built around a bigger editor, with B-roll, brand templates and filler-word removal. That's useful when you want to shape every clip. When you're posting several a day, it's more stops between the link and the post.
It costs less per minute on a yearly plan
Both charge a credit for each minute of video, however many clips come out of it. Billed yearly, an hour of video costs $2.85 on Clyper Pro and $2.88 on Studio, against $2.90 on OpusClip Pro. Studio's 1,000 minutes is more than 16 hours of video a month, and 2× and 4× give two and four times that at the same rate.
Captions in 50+ languages
OpusClip's pricing page lists 20+ languages. Clyper captions 50+, word by word, in five animated styles made for short clips (all five on Pro and Studio). If the videos you clip aren't in English, check the tool you pay for covers the language before anything else.

What it costs
Billed yearly, Clyper Pro is $19 a month for 400 minutes of video. OpusClip Pro is $14.50 for 300. That's $0.0475 a minute against $0.0483, and Studio keeps about the same rate, $0.0480, for 1,000 minutes or 2× and 4× that.
Month to month, it depends on the plan. OpusClip's Starter is cheaper: $15 for 150 minutes, against $20 for 150 on ours. If you clip a couple of videos a month, that difference is real. Pro goes the other way: ours is $38 for 400 minutes, $0.0950 a minute, against $29 for 300 on OpusClip, $0.0967. If you clip most days, that's where Clyper comes out ahead, and further on a yearly plan.

Where OpusClip does more
OpusClip does more around the clip. It has B-roll, brand templates, filler-word removal, a timeline editor, team seats and scheduling to a long list of social apps. It takes videos up to 10 hours, and links from Zoom, Vimeo, Twitch and others, and it has a free plan to try it on.
We left most of that out on purpose. Clyper's clips download as plain 1080 × 1920 MP4s with no watermark, so if you want B-roll on your best one, any editor will add it, and whatever you schedule posts with will take it.
Switching from OpusClip
- Pick a plan. Starter is $20 a month, and you can cancel it whenever you like. Pro and Studio cost less billed yearly.
- Paste a video you've already clipped in OpusClip. Same link, side by side. It's the quickest way to see the difference for yourself.
- Post the way you do now. Download the clips, post them, submit them to your campaigns.
