Clyper vs Clippie

Clippie makes faceless videos: fake texts, Reddit stories, quizzes and AI story videos from a script or an idea, with AI voices, images and captions. It doesn't cut clips from long videos; its own blog leaves that to dedicated clipping tools. Clyper is one. Paste any YouTube link up to 4 hours long and get up to 30 clips, found, framed, captioned and scored for you.

Our take

We make Clyper, so this is the case for it. What we say about Clippie comes from its own site and blog, linked at the bottom.

Clippie and Clyper do different jobs. Clippie turns a script or an idea into a faceless video from a template; its captions and split-screen tools work on a clip you've already cut and upload. Clipping campaigns pay for clips of a creator's long videos, and that's the part Clippie's own blog says dedicated clipping tools handle.

Clyper is built for it. Paste the campaign's YouTube link, and up to 30 clips come back cut to whole sentences, framed on whoever's talking, captioned word by word and given a hook score, for about what Clippie's Lite plan costs.

Why clippers pick Clyper over Clippie

  1. It clips the long video for you

Clippie's templates start from a script, a story or a prompt, and its blog (September 2026) says “dedicated clipping tools handle the actual cutting of long footage”. Clyper reads the whole video, from a minute to 4 hours, picks the moments that work on their own, as many as you ask for up to 30, and cuts each on whole sentences, 20 to 60 seconds long.

  2. It starts from the YouTube link

Clippie's tools take a clip you upload; its pages don't take YouTube links. Campaigns hand you YouTube links, and Clyper takes any public or unlisted one, or a file up to 4 GB, with 10 links at once on Studio.

You still need permission to post clips of someone else's video, which clipping campaigns give.

  3. Framed on whoever's talking

A clip from a landscape video needs reframing to 9:16, and Clippie's pages describe no speaker tracking. Clyper follows whoever's talking, cuts to the other person when they answer, and stacks a stream's webcam over the game, on every clip.

  4. A hook score, so you post the best first

One long video gives a dozen clips or more. Clyper scores each one for its hook, so you know which to post first, and captions it word by word in 50+ languages, in 5 animated styles placed inside every app's safe zone.

Where Clippie does more

Clippie is built for faceless channels. Its templates make fake text conversations, Reddit stories, would-you-rather and quiz videos, top 5 lists and long AI story videos for YouTube, with 16,000+ AI voices, custom voice clones, AI images and video models, and a split-screen template that puts a podcast clip over gameplay.

Clyper doesn't make faceless videos. It makes clips, as 1080 × 1920 MP4s with no watermark, so a clip from Clyper can go straight into a split screen if that's your format.

Clyper and Clippie together

If you run faceless channels and clip campaigns too, the two fit: Clippie for the templates, Clyper for the clips. Paste a campaign's YouTube link into Clyper, post the clips as they come, and keep Clippie for the videos you make from scratch. Starter is $20 a month with no commitment. New to campaigns? Questions

Can Clippie clip long videos?

Not on its own: it makes faceless videos from scripts and templates, and its blog says dedicated clipping tools handle cutting long footage. Its captions and split-screen tools work on a clip you upload. Clyper takes a YouTube link up to 4 hours long and makes up to 30 clips from it.

Is Clippie good for clipping campaigns?

For captioning a clip you've already cut, it can be. Campaigns pay for clips of a creator's long videos, though, and finding and cutting those moments is the job Clyper does: each clip comes back framed on whoever's talking, captioned and scored.

How much does Clippie cost?

Lite is $19.99 a month, or $179 a year, with 1 hour of video exports a month; Creator is $34.99, or $294 a year, with 240 minutes; Pro is $69.99, or $499 a year, with 500 minutes. Its terms say there's no free plan.

Is Clyper a Clippie alternative?

For clipping, yes: Clyper makes clips from long videos, which Clippie doesn't. For faceless videos from templates, no: Clyper doesn't make those. If you use Clippie to caption clips, Clyper's come captioned already, word by word in 50+ languages.

Can I use Clyper's clips in Clippie?

Yes. They download as 1080 × 1920 MP4s with no watermark, so you can upload one to any editor, Clippie's split-screen template included.
