Turn Kick VODs into vertical clips
Download a past stream from your Kick Creator dashboard and upload it here. Clyper finds the moments where you react, tell a story or talk to the chat, stacks your webcam over the game and captions every word.
MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV, up to 4 GB and 4 hours

How to download a Kick VOD
Kick saves each stream as a VOD by itself, and since late September 2026 it lets streamers download their own VODs straight from Kick. Here's how, as Kick's own post on X shows it:
- 1Give the VOD time to appear. Kick says processing takes 15 to 30 minutes for a shorter stream and up to an hour for a long one. If your stream dropped and reconnected, it may be split into several VODs.
- 2Open your Creator dashboard, then Studio, then VODs.
- 3Find the stream and click its download icon. It sits right next to the red delete button, so check which one you're pressing.
- 4Kick's post doesn't say what format or quality the file is. Clyper takes MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV, so if it's one of those and under 4 GB and 4 hours, upload it as it is. If it's another kind, convert it with the free MP4 converter first.
- 5Do it in time. VODs stay up 7 days (30 on verified channels), and a channel holds at most 16 at a time (30 if verified). Partner and Verified channels can also pin up to 5 VODs, before they expire, to keep them on the channel for good.
- 6The download is in the streamer's own Creator dashboard, so it's for your own channel, and Kick hasn't said whether moderators get it. Clipping for a Kick streamer? Ask them for the file.
Kick's help article on downloading VODs, last updated in May 2026, predates the button and still points to third-party sites and a manual playlist method. With the download in your dashboard, you don't need them, and we don't recommend downloader sites: Kick's terms rule out reaching its content by means it doesn't provide. Better still, keep your own copy as you stream: OBS's Automatically record when streaming (Settings, General) records every stream on your computer, which also covers a VOD that didn't save. Kick notes that a growing channel's streams and VODs may not play in 1080p until it reaches an engagement threshold; that doesn't touch a recording on your own drive. See OBS recordings to clips.
How it works
- 1
Add the VOD
Upload the file from Kick, or each part of a long one: up to 4 GB and 4 hours a file.
- 2
Get the clips
Clyper reads the stream's transcript, picks the moments that stand on their own, stacks your webcam over the game and captions them.
- 3
Post them
Check each clip in the editor, download 1080 × 1920 MP4s with no watermark, and post them to TikTok, Shorts and Reels.
What you get
- Webcam over the gameYour webcam goes across the top at 1080 × 608, with the middle of the game below.
- IRL and just chattingNo game on screen? It frames you and follows you as you move.
- Found by what you sayReactions, stories and answers to the chat: the moments you talk through.
- Cut on whole sentencesEach clip runs 20 to 60 seconds and never starts or ends mid-word.
- Every word captionedWord by word, in the stream's own language, clear of TikTok's, Reels' and Shorts' buttons.
- Long streams in partsEach part is its own video, with its own clips: up to 30 from each.
“Didn’t touch editing software once. Just dropped links in, posted what it spit out.”
Long Kick streams: one upload per 4 GB
Kick takes streams at up to 8,000 kbps. If your download keeps that rate, an hour is about 3.6 GB, so 4 GB holds about 66 minutes, and a five-hour stream is nearer 18 GB. Split it before you upload:
- Open the free video splitter on a computer and choose the VOD. It runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.
- Choose equal parts (2 to 20): the size in GB divided by 4, rounded up, and at least one part per 4 hours. Or mark the cuts at a break, so no moment is cut in half.
- Keep the shape As it is with no part numbers, so each part is copied without re-encoding, then download the parts one at a time and upload each.
Parts cost about what the whole would: a credit a minute, at least 10 a part. To shrink a file that's only a little over instead, see how to compress a video; for hours of stream, splitting keeps the picture sharp.
Kick's clip button, and where Clyper fits
Kick's own clips are the quickest way to save one moment. Any logged-in viewer, or you, can clip 10 seconds to 3 minutes of a live stream or a VOD, wait 60 seconds between clips, and download each as an MP4. The ones viewers made while you were live, on your channel's Clips tab, show what they thought was worth saving. To lay one out for a phone, the free split screen video maker stacks the webcam over the game.
Clyper fits when you want the whole VOD gone through at once: up to 30 clips from a three-hour stream, each cut to whole sentences, laid out and captioned, ready to post before the next stream. The details of Kick's clip tool are in how to clip Kick streams.
What Clyper picks from a Kick stream
Clyper finds moments by what's said, so the streams that clip best are the ones you talk through: reactions, arguments, stories, calls to the chat. A silent play isn't in the transcript, so it won't be picked; clip those with Kick's button. For the stacked layout, keep one webcam in a corner, the same size and place all stream. What the layout does and what to post is on stream clips with Clyper.
Clipping for Kick streamers
Kick's clip button is open to any viewer, but posting clips on other apps is the streamer's call. Clip the streamers who've asked for it, through a clipping campaign or their own program, work from the footage they give you, and name them on every post. What Kick pays streamers, and where clips come in, is in how much Kick pays.
What it costs
A credit is a minute of video, so a plan is how much video you can clip in a month, however many clips it makes. A three-hour stream uses 180 credits and can give up to 30 clips.
Starter

Questions
Can you download your own Kick VODs?
Yes. Since late September 2026, Kick lets streamers download their own VODs: open your Creator dashboard, then Studio, then VODs, and click the stream's download icon, next to the red delete button.
How long do Kick VODs stay up?
7 days, or 30 on verified channels, and a channel holds at most 16 VODs at a time (30 if verified). Partner and Verified channels can pin up to 5, before they expire, to keep them for good.
Can Clyper clip a Kick link or connect to my Kick account?
No. Clyper takes uploaded files and YouTube links, with no Kick connection. Download the VOD and upload it: MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV, up to 4 GB and 4 hours a file.
Can I download another streamer's Kick VOD?
Kick's VOD download is in the streamer's own Creator dashboard, so it's for your channel. For someone else's stream, ask them for the file, or use Kick's clip button, which lets any logged-in viewer download clips of up to 3 minutes.
What if my Kick VOD is over 4 GB?
Split it into equal parts with the free video splitter, keeping the shape as it is so nothing is re-encoded, and upload each part. Each part gets its own clips.
Does Clyper work on IRL and just chatting streams?
Yes, as long as there's talking. With no game on screen it frames you and follows you as you move, and picks the moments from what's said.
