Turn webinar recordings into short clips

Upload the recording from Zoom, Teams, GoTo Webinar or Livestorm, or paste the YouTube link of a webinar you streamed. Clyper finds the moments that stand on their own, frames the speaker 9:16 and captions every word: up to 30 clips from one webinar.

Upload your recording

MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV, up to 4 GB and 4 hours

Already on YouTube? Paste the link instead.

Where your webinar recording is

Clyper takes a video file or a YouTube link. It doesn't connect to webinar platforms or open their share links, so download the recording first. Here's where each platform keeps it:

  1. 1
Zoom Webinars. Only the host or a co-host can record to the cloud (panelists can record to their computer unless the host turns that off). Before the webinar, in the web portal's Settings, Recording & Transcript, turn on Record active speaker, gallery view and shared screen separately with Active speaker ticked: layout changes made after the start don't apply. Afterwards, the host opens Recordings & Transcripts, the Cloud recordings tab, then the webinar, and clicks Download. Upload the active speaker MP4.
  2. 2
Microsoft Teams webinars and town halls. They record automatically when they start, unless the organizer turned that off in Meeting options. Afterwards, open Calendar, select the past event, then View event, Manage event and Recordings, and select Download. A town hall's organizer can download it while it isn't published.
  3. 3
GoTo Webinar. Before the webinar, sign in to the dashboard, select the Settings icon, then Recording and Saving and Sharing. Choose Save recordings to Video Library and select Show webcams in recordings, so the presenter is in it. After the webinar, find it in the Video Library, select its More icon and choose Download for an MP4. A recording saved to your computer leaves the webcams out: it's a WebM file, in Documents unless you chose another folder, and Clyper takes WebM as it is.
  4. 4
Livestorm. Replays come with every plan, and events record from the start unless someone turned off Automatically record upon event start. Once the event is over, in its dashboard, click the session, then Replay, then Download: an MP4 of up to 1080p, depending on your upload speed. Team members can download it; attendees can't.
  5. 5
Streamed to YouTube Live. Wait until the stream has ended and been saved as a video, then paste its link, public or unlisted. Nothing to download.

Recorded as a meeting instead? See Zoom recordings, Teams recordings and Google Meet recordings. Clyper takes files up to 4 GB and 4 hours; split a bigger one into parts with the free video splitter, which doesn't re-encode, and upload the parts you want.

How it works

  1. 1

    Add the recording

Upload the MP4 or WebM from your webinar platform, or paste the YouTube link of a webinar you streamed.

  2. 2

    Get the clips

Clyper finds the insights, answers and stories that stand on their own, frames the speaker and captions every word.

  3. 3

    Post them

Fix product names in the editor, then download 1080 × 1920 MP4s for LinkedIn, Shorts, Reels and your emails.

What you get

  • Framed on the speakerIt follows whoever's talking, picked from their mouth moving, and switches when a panelist takes the next question.
  • Speaker over the slideWhen the speaker is a small box in a corner of a shared screen for most of a clip, it gives them the top 1080 × 608 and the middle of the slide below.
  • Whole answersEvery clip is 20 to 60 seconds and starts and ends on a full sentence.
  • Scored for the hookEach clip gets a hook score, so the strongest point goes out first.
  • Captions you can fixEvery word in 50+ languages. Correct product names and acronyms before you download.
  • One file for every feedVertical MP4s with no watermark, for LinkedIn, Shorts and Reels alike.

Slides, speaker view and what ends up in the clip

A clip is tall and a webinar is wide, so a 9:16 crop keeps about a third of the frame. What Clyper's auto reframe keeps depends on what was on screen:

  • Speaker view, or a separate speaker file: the best clips. The speaker fills the frame.
  • The speaker's camera beside the slides: the next best. The clip centers on the speaker and the slide mostly falls outside it. When the speaker is a small box in a corner and stays on screen for most of a clip, Clyper stacks them on top and the middle of the slide below, with the slide's edges cut off.
  • Only slides, or a demo with no face: the crop keeps the middle of the slide. A wide chart or a menu at the edge won't make it in.

So keep cameras on, record speaker view or a separate speaker file where the platform offers it, and put the point of each slide in big text near the middle. Clyper finds moments by what's said, so a silent stretch of clicking through a demo won't be picked. When a slide has to be seen whole, lay out that one clip yourself with the free split screen video maker or fit it with bars using the vertical video converter.

Posting webinar clips, and asking first

One webinar can fill weeks of posts: the core insight first, then the best audience questions, then the demo and the customer story. The guide to turning a webinar into clips has what to look for and a three-week plan. On LinkedIn, upload the clip itself rather than a link, and leave LinkedIn's auto captions off, since the captions are already in the video; how to post video on LinkedIn has the steps. Clyper doesn't post or schedule: you download the clips and post them.

Panelists and guest speakers are in your clips, and attendees may be heard asking questions, sometimes by name. Get each speaker's OK before you post clips of them, and leave out attendees who didn't agree to be shown or named.

What it costs

A credit is a minute of video, so a plan is how much video you can clip in a month, however many clips it makes. An hour-long webinar uses 60 credits and can give up to 30 clips.

  • Starter

    $20/mo

    150 minutes, about 75 clips

  • Pro

Questions

Can I make clips from a webinar recording?

Yes. Download the recording from your webinar platform and upload it (MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV, up to 4 GB and 4 hours), or paste the YouTube link if you streamed it there. Clyper finds the moments, frames the speaker 9:16 and captions every word.

Can Clyper connect to Zoom, Teams or GoTo Webinar?

No. Clyper doesn't connect to any webinar platform or take their links. Download the recording and upload the file, or paste a YouTube link.

Where are Zoom webinar recordings saved?

Cloud recordings are in the Zoom web portal, under Recordings & Transcripts, on the Cloud recordings tab, where the webinar's host can download them. A recording to a computer stays on the computer that made it.

What happens to the slides in a vertical clip?

When the speaker is on camera, the clip follows them and the slide falls outside the frame. When the speaker is a small box in a corner, Clyper stacks them over the middle of the slide. A slide with no one on screen is cropped to its middle, so keep the key text big and central.

How many clips can I get from a one-hour webinar?

Up to 30: you choose how many, up to one for every 2 minutes of video and 30 in all, or leave it on Auto.

Can I clip a webinar I streamed to YouTube?

Yes, once the stream has ended and YouTube has saved it. Paste the link, public or unlisted.
