2short.ai alternatives, compared

Of the AI clippers we've compared that charge by the minute, 2short.ai costs the least, and it has a free plan. People look elsewhere for more languages, for uploads, or for a score on each clip. Here are the ten tools they weigh instead, with prices from their own sites. We make the first one.

Why people switch from 2short.ai

Price is seldom the reason to leave 2short.ai: on Pro, $0.0221 a minute of video, it costs less than any other AI clipper we've compared that charges by the minute. Languages are more often the reason. Its FAQ lists 26, most of them European, with Indonesian, Japanese and Korean, so if you clip in a language outside its list, that settles it. Clyper captions 50+, and Spikes Studio lists 99+.

Then uploads. Its site lists YouTube links, and Google Drive and other public links from Lite, but not uploads from your device, so a Twitch or Kick replay on your computer has to go up to Google Drive first, on a paid plan. Its FAQ also says it can only process videos with captions, which YouTube's automatic captions give most videos. It doesn't list a score for each clip, or how many clips a video gives.

Our pick: an AI clipping tool built for clippers

Clyper

Yes, we make it, so of course it's first. 2short.ai costs less per minute, and we won't pretend otherwise. Clyper is the pick when you need more than price: captions in 50+ languages, uploads as well as links, and clips cut to whole sentences and scored, from videos up to 4 hours long.

Best for

  • Captions in 50+ languages, where 2short.ai's FAQ lists 26.
  • Uploads as well as links: MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV up to 4 GB, so Twitch and Kick replays work too.
  • A say in how many clips you get, up to 30 a video, and a hook score on each.

Good to know

  • 2short.ai costs far less per minute: $0.0221 on Pro, against $0.0950 on Clyper Pro month to month.
  • There's no free plan; Starter is $20 month to month.

How to choose

  1. Whose videos you clip. If it's other creators' YouTube videos, for campaigns, you need a tool that takes any public link. That narrows it fast.
  2. How much you'll clip. Work out the hours of video a month, then compare the price per minute, not the price per plan.
  3. How much you want to edit. Clips ready to post, or an editor to finish them in. Every step you add, you repeat on every clip.
  4. Try it on a real video. Use a free plan where there is one, or a month of the smallest plan, on the kind of video you'll actually clip.

Every tool, side by side: AI clipping tools compared. Clipping more than you can watch? Studio takes 10 links at once.

Questions

What is the best 2short.ai alternative?

For clippers working in more languages or from uploads, Clyper: it captions 50+ languages, takes files as well as YouTube links, and cuts each clip to whole sentences with a hook score. None of the other AI clippers we've compared that charge by the minute costs less than 2short.ai, though.

Is there a free alternative to 2short.ai?

OpusClip has a free plan (60 minutes a month, with a watermark, and clips that can't be exported after 3 days); Vizard has a free plan (60 minutes a month at 720p, with a watermark); Spikes Studio has a free plan (demo clips, and up to 30 minutes of video a month by its FAQ, at 720p with a watermark); quso.ai has a free plan in some countries (75 minutes a month at 720p, with a watermark); Klap has one video free to try; StreamLadder has a free clip editor (with a 7-day trial of its AI clipping); Submagic has a free trial (3 short videos, with a watermark); CapCut has a free editor (if you cut each clip by hand); Descript has a free plan (1 hour of media at 720p, with a watermark). Clyper has no free plan; Starter is $20 month to month, so a month is enough to try it on your own videos.

Which 2short.ai alternative is cheapest?

Per minute of video, Vizard's yearly Creator plan ($0.0242), then quso.ai's yearly Growth ($0.0408, a Halloween offer for yearly plans bought by November 1, 2026), Spikes Studio's yearly PRO+ ($0.0470) and Clyper's yearly Pro ($0.0475). All of them cost more per minute than 2short.ai's Pro and Premium. Descript's media hours come to less, $0.0133 a minute on its yearly Creator plan, but they're hours in its editor, for files you upload rather than links, and its AI features use AI credits on top.

Why do people switch from 2short.ai?

Languages, mostly: its FAQ lists 26. Then uploads, which its site doesn't list, so replays and recordings on your computer have to go up to Google Drive first, on a paid plan. And some want a score on each clip and a say in how many they get.

Does 2short.ai take uploads?

Its site lists YouTube links, and Google Drive and other public links from the Lite plan; it doesn't list uploads from your device. Clyper takes YouTube links and uploads: MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV, up to 4 GB.

Which 2short.ai alternatives take YouTube links?

Clyper, Vizard, Klap, Spikes Studio and quso.ai take YouTube links. Submagic does with its Magic Clips add-on. OpusClip does once you confirm the YouTube channel is yours. StreamLadder's AI clipping takes Twitch and Kick links, and YouTube videos as uploaded files. CapCut and Descript work from uploaded files.
