Submagic pricing in 2026

Submagic sells credits a month, priced per member: Starter is $19 a month, or $12 billed yearly, for 45 credits, 15 videos of up to 2 minutes. Clips from a long video are Magic Clips, which its own pages describe in different ways. Here's every plan, what a video and a Magic Clips charge come to, and what a month of clipping can cost. Clyper's plans are for clipping alone: videos up to 4 hours, up to 30 clips from each, priced by the minute.

Prices are in US dollars before tax, as Submagic's pricing page and help center list them, and they're per member: its help center says "All prices are per member", so each person on a team counts. The credits come each month, and an upload takes 3, which is where the 15, 40 and 100 videos come from. Exports are 1080p on Starter, 2K on Pro and 4K on Business. Its pricing page also lists a Custom plan, priced by its sales team, with custom Magic Clips limits.

Submagic's free trial

Submagic's free trial, by its help center, lets you upload 3 short videos, and they carry a watermark until you subscribe; its paid plans don't add one.

Clyper has no free plan or trial. Starter is $20 month to month for 150 minutes of video, up to 75 clips, and no plan adds a watermark.

How Submagic's credits work

Each plan is a monthly pool of credits. By its help center, uploading a video takes 3 credits, AI captions are free, and its other AI features take 1 to 3 credits each. That's where its plans' videos a month come from, each up to 2, 5 or 30 minutes long by plan.

Magic Clips, which makes clips from a long video, is the part a clipper pays for, and Submagic's own pages describe it in different ways. Its help article on costs says Magic Clips cost 8 credits each, from the same credits, without saying whether that's each video or each clip; its Magic Clips guide calls it an add-on subscription; and its pricing page names Magic Clips only on the Custom plan. Check in its app before you count on a price.

At 8 credits a charge, Starter's 45 credits cover 5, Pro's 120 cover 15 and Business's 300 cover 37. Clyper charges for the minutes of video you clip, a credit a minute (at least 10 a video), for up to 30 clips from each.

In US dollars. Submagic's are a video at 3 credits, up to 2, 5 or 30 minutes long by plan; a Magic Clips charge, at 8 credits, comes to $2.13 on Starter billed yearly, down to $1.09 on Business. Clyper's are an hour of video, made into up to 30 clips.

What a month of clipping costs on Submagic

Say you clip 5 one-hour videos a month, 300 minutes. Its Magic Clips guide says it makes 20 or more clips from a video, so what the month costs on Submagic depends on which of its pages you go by.

On Submagic

  • 40 credits, if Magic Clips' 8 are for each video

Starter: $12 a month, billed yearly

or $19 month to month, with 5 credits to spare

  • 800 credits or more, if they're for each clip (20+ a video)

    More than any plan has

    Business, its largest, has 300

  • If Magic Clips is an add-on subscription

Not priced on its pricing page

Its Custom plan's Magic Clips limits are priced by its sales team

On Clyper

Pro

$19a month, billed yearly

or $38 month to month

  • 300 of its 400 minutes a month, with 100 to spare
  • Up to 150 clips, 30 from each video, for the same price as fewer
  • $3.80 a video, or $0.13 a clip at the most clips, billed yearly

On Clyper the five videos are 300 minutes, so it's Pro: $19 a month billed yearly, or $38 month to month, in US dollars, for up to 150 clips. If Magic Clips' 8 credits cover a whole video, and Starter takes hour-long videos for it, Submagic's Starter costs less for this month, by $7 a month billed yearly and $19 month to month. If they're for each clip, the month's 800 or more credits are more than any plan has.

Clyper's price is the same however many clips you take, and it's on its pricing page.

Why clippers pick Clyper over Submagic

  1. One price for clipping, on the pricing page

Clyper's plans are minutes of video for clips: a credit a minute, the same whether you take 10 clips from an hour or 30. Submagic's own pages describe Magic Clips three ways: 8 credits each, an add-on subscription, and limits on a Custom plan.

  2. Videos up to 4 hours, on every plan

Submagic's plans take videos up to 2, 5 or 30 minutes long by plan, and its help center doesn't list a limit for Magic Clips. Clyper clips any video from a minute to 4 hours at a time on every plan, by YouTube or Twitch VOD link, Google Drive or Dropbox share link, or upload; a longer stream goes in a part at a time.

  3. The clips you ask for

Magic Clips makes 20 or more clips from a video for you to sort through. On Clyper you choose how many, up to one for every 2 minutes of video and 30 from one video, or leave it on Auto, and each one comes with a hook score, so you post the strongest first.

  4. Clips ready to post

Each Clyper clip runs 20 to 60 seconds, starts and ends on a whole sentence, follows whoever's talking and cuts to the other person when they answer, with captions above the apps' usernames and captions. It downloads as a 1080p MP4 with no watermark.

We'd pick Clyper for clipping long videos: up to 4 hours at a time, up to 30 clips from each, cut on whole sentences, framed, captioned and scored, at a price per minute on its pricing page. Submagic suits you better for adding effects, B-roll and zooms to short videos you've already cut.
