How to clip Kick streams for TikTok, Reels and Shorts

Kick has a clip button on every stream and replay, and the clips it makes download as MP4s. Streamers can also download whole replays from their Creator dashboard. Here's how to make a clip, find the moments worth clipping in a long replay, get footage you're allowed to use, turn it into a vertical, captioned clip, and post it for Kick streamers who want clips.

Updated 7 min read

In short

  • Any logged-in viewer can clip a Kick stream or replay: 10 seconds to 3 minutes, with the Clip button or the C key, then download it as an MP4.
  • Replays stay up 30 days on verified channels and 7 on the rest, so clip or download a stream in the days after it ends.
  • Lay gameplay out for a phone: the webcam across the top (1080 × 608), the game below, and captions on every word.
  • Streamers can download a whole replay from the Creator dashboard (Studio, VODs) and upload it to Clyper. Clipping someone else? Clip streamers who've asked for clips, from Kick's clip download or the footage their campaign gives you.

Making a clip with Kick's clip button

Kick's clip tool works the same on a live stream and on a replay:

  1. Open the stream or the replay and press the Clip icon under the player, or the C key.
  2. Drag the handles on the timeline in the Create clip window to the moment you want. It shows how long your clip is and how long it can be.
  3. Give it a title and press Publish. Kick makes the clip, and you can download it as an MP4 straight away, or later from the clip's page with Download.

Three minutes is plenty: the clip you post will be shorter. Take a little extra on both sides and trim it afterwards with the free video trimmer, which keeps the quality and runs in your browser.

Finding the moments in a long replay

Kick streams often run four, six, eight hours. You don't need to watch all of it to find what's worth posting:

  • The channel's Clips tab. The clips viewers made while the stream was live are the moments the audience flagged themselves. Start there.
  • Where the chat spikes. Scrub the replay for the stretches where messages flood in: something just happened.
  • The stream's big beats. A guest arriving, a win, a loss, a challenge, a donation read out loud. A streamer's title and schedule usually say what's coming.

What carries a Kick clip off the platform is the streamer's reaction: a face that changes, a line that lands, a story told to the chat. Gameplay alone rarely does. For more on picking moments from any stream, see how to clip streams.

Getting footage you're allowed to use

Since late September 2026, Kick lets streamers download their own replays straight from Kick, as its post on X shows. For a whole stream of your own, that's the way in:

  1. Open your Creator dashboard, then Studio, then VODs.
  2. Click the stream's download icon. It sits right next to the red delete button, so check which one you're pressing.
  3. Upload the file to Clyper, which goes through the whole stream for you (see clipping a whole Kick replay), or cut moments from it by hand. Kick's post doesn't say what format the file is; what to do if it isn't one Clyper takes, or it's over 4 GB, is on Kick VODs to clips.

Kick's terms let you use what's on Kick through the features Kick provides, and rule out reaching its content by other means. So it matters how you get the video:

The replay download is in the streamer's own dashboard, so it only covers their channel. Kick's help article on downloading replays, last updated in May 2026, predates it and still points to third-party tools; you don't need them for your own streams. For someone else's stream, stick to Kick's clip download or the file the streamer gives you.

Making a Kick clip vertical

A clip of a gameplay stream downloads as it was streamed: wide, with the game filling the frame and the webcam in a corner. On TikTok, Reels and Shorts it needs to fill a tall screen, so split it:

  • Webcam on top, across the full 1080-pixel width and 608 pixels high, where the reaction reads.
  • Game below, the other 1312 pixels, cropped to where the action is.
  • No game on screen? For just chatting, IRL and reaction streams, crop to the streamer alone.

The free split screen video maker does this in your browser: choose the webcam and game layout, drag one box onto the webcam and one onto the game, and download a 1080 × 1920 MP4.

Captions, and the cut

  • Get to the moment fast. Open a second or two before it happens, end on the reaction, and leave out the minute of chat-reading after it.
  • Caption every word. Streams are loud and people scroll with the sound off. The free auto caption generator transcribes the clip in your browser and gives you timed captions, and add captions to video burns them in, a few words at a time.
  • Watch for music. Background music on stream can get a clip muted or claimed on TikTok and YouTube. Pick moments where the streamer's voice carries it.

Permission, and getting paid to clip Kick streamers

Kick's clip button is open to any viewer, but posting clips on other apps is a different matter: the stream belongs to the streamer. Clip the streamers who've asked for it, through a clipping campaign or their own clipping program, and name them on every post. See is clipping legal?

Big Kick streamers pay for clips. Tubefilter reported on April 29, 2026, citing Business Insider, that one of them paid more than $1.4 million to 303 clippers in five weeks, at $40 per 100,000 views, and that part of his clipper network is apparently paid by Kick. Kick hasn't published a clipping program of its own. Its Bounties can reward viewers for making clips, with the prizes set in each Bounty, like KICKs, gifted subscriptions or KICK Shop gift cards, rather than pay per view. What Kick pays streamers is in how much Kick pays.

Most paid work comes through campaigns. See how to find clipping campaigns for where they're listed and what to check before you join one.

Clipping a whole Kick replay with Clyper

Clipping by hand works one moment at a time. With a whole replay, Clyper does the searching. Download it from your Creator dashboard (Studio, VODs), or take the file a campaign gives you, and upload it: Clyper doesn't take Kick links. It takes MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV, up to 4 GB and 4 hours long.

  1. Clyper goes through the whole stream and picks its best moments, cut to whole sentences: up to 30 clips.
  2. It finds the webcam and stacks it over the game where it's on screen, and frames the streamer alone where there's no game.
  3. It captions every word, on the seam between the webcam and the game.
  4. You check each clip in the editor and download 1080 × 1920 MP4s with no watermark.

Questions

How long can a Kick clip be?

From 10 seconds to 3 minutes, on desktop and on mobile. After making one, you wait 60 seconds before you can make another.

Can you download Kick clips?

Yes. Once a clip is published you can download it as an MP4, there and then or later from the clip's page with Download. Streamers can also download whole replays of their own streams from the Creator dashboard: Studio, VODs, then the download icon.

How long do Kick VODs last?

Replays stay up for 30 days on verified channels and 7 days on others. Verified channels keep up to 30 replays at a time, others up to 16. To keep one, download it from your Creator dashboard before then.

Can I clip someone else's Kick stream?

Kick lets any logged-in viewer make clips on Kick, unless they're banned from the chat. To post them on TikTok, Reels or Shorts, clip streamers who've asked for clips, through a clipping campaign or their own program, and credit them.

Does Kick pay clippers?

Kick hasn't published a clipping program. Streamers pay clippers through their own campaigns, and Tubefilter reported in April 2026, citing Business Insider, that part of one big streamer's clipper network is apparently paid by Kick. Kick's Bounties can also reward making clips, with prizes like KICKs or gifted subscriptions.

Can Clyper clip Kick streams?

Not from a Kick link: Clyper takes YouTube links and uploads. Download the replay from your Creator dashboard (Studio, VODs) and upload it (MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV, up to 4 GB and 4 hours), and Clyper finds the best moments, puts the webcam over the game and captions every word.
