Jordan Mackey, faceless clipper · $1,200/moWhat Clyper finds in a gaming stream, and what it doesn't
Clyper reads everything that's said in a stream and picks the moments that work on their own: a reaction to a play, a rage at a loss, a story told between rounds, a hot take, banter with chat or a duo. Each is cut from a line that hooks to its payoff, and scored, so you know which to post first. That's most of what people share from a stream, because it's the streamer they come for.
One limit to know: a silent clutch play with no commentary isn't in what's said, so it isn't a moment Clyper picks. Save those as they happen with your console's or your PC's clip button, as how to make gaming clips shows for PC, PS5, Xbox and Switch. Clyper is made for the hours in between: streamers who talk through their games, gaming podcasts, and reaction and commentary videos.
The facecam on top, the game below
A gaming stream is wide: the game fills the screen and the streamer sits in a box in a corner. Crop it to 9:16 and you lose one or the other. Clyper finds the webcam itself, gives it a strip across the top, the shape of the webcam, and fills the rest with the middle of the game, big enough to follow on a phone. The captions go on the seam between them.
When the webcam isn't on screen, Clyper crops to the action instead, following the faces in it, or keeping the middle when there are none. To lay out one clip by hand, use the free split screen video maker.
Twitch, Kick and YouTube gaming streams
- YouTube: paste the link of a stream that's ended and been saved, or of any gaming video, public or unlisted.
- Twitch: download the past broadcast and upload the file. Past broadcasts are kept for 7 to 60 days, so clip them before they go: see Twitch VOD to clips and how to download Twitch VODs.
- Kick: download the VOD and upload it, as Kick VOD to clips shows.
- Your own recording: an OBS recording of the stream works too, as an MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV up to 4 GB. See OBS recording to clips.
How many clips from one stream
You choose, up to one for every 2 minutes of video and 30 in all, so an hour of stream already gives up to 30, for 60 credits: a clip a day for a month. A four-hour stream uses 240 credits, a credit a minute, for the same 30 clips picked from four times the moments. Work out any length with the free clips per video calculator, and how often to post them in how often to post.
Clipping gaming streamers for pay
Gaming streamers are some of the most clipped people online, and some pay for it. When we last checked, in October 2026, Clix and Lacy had paid clipping campaigns, and so did the Roblox YouTubers Sinjin Drowning and StinkyAsher; Jynxzi has had them in the past. Each page has the rate, the rules and where to sign up, and the clipping programs page has who pays now.
Clip a streamer only where a campaign or program allows it, and follow its rules on tags and length. Some campaigns ask for clean clips: the free bleep censor finds the swearing and bleeps it. How campaigns pay is in how to make money clipping.
Posting gaming clips that get watched
- Open on the moment. The reaction or the line that sets it up goes first; Clyper cuts each clip to start there.
- Keep it short. 20 to 60 seconds is long enough for a setup and its payoff. See how long a short video should be.
- Mind the game's music. Licensed songs in a game can get a clip claimed, and publishers set their own rules for videos of their games: the guide's where to post gaming clips has them.
- Post to all three. The same 9:16 file goes on TikTok, Shorts and Reels: see how to post Twitch clips on TikTok.

Questions
What is the best AI gaming clip maker?
For streamers who talk through their games, Clyper: it finds the reactions and stories in a whole stream, up to 4 hours, stacks the facecam over the game and captions every word, for up to 30 clips. For silent plays, your console's or PC's own clip button saves them as they happen.
Can Clyper clip gameplay without commentary?
It picks moments from what's said, so a play nobody talks through isn't one it finds. It's made for streams and videos with someone talking: reactions, stories, commentary and gaming podcasts.
Does Clyper put my facecam over the game?
Yes. It finds the webcam, a small face that stays put in a corner, and stacks it over the middle of the game for the shots it's on screen, with the captions between the two.
Can I clip Twitch or Kick streams?
From the VOD: download it and upload the file (MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV, up to 4 GB), or paste the link of the stream's upload on YouTube. Clyper takes YouTube links and uploads, not Twitch or Kick links.
How many clips do I get from a gaming stream?
Up to one for every 2 minutes and 30 in all: a four-hour stream gives up to 30, for 240 credits. You choose how many.
Is there a free gaming clip maker?
Clyper is paid, from its Starter plan. The free split screen video maker stacks a facecam over gameplay for one clip, in your browser; finding the moments in a whole stream and captioning them is the part Clyper does for you.
Clip your last gaming stream
Paste a finished stream's YouTube link or upload the VOD. Clyper finds the moments you react to, puts your facecam over the game and captions every word: up to 30 clips, ready to post.
